PURPOSE
The primary purpose of your job position as CPS/Respiratory Care Professional (RCP) is to perform assigned duties in an effective manner, in accordance with established policies and procedures, and as directed by your supervisor to assure that a successful viable department is maintained at all times.
Under the direction of the Director of Cardio Pulmonary and Rehabilitation Services, performs a variety of Cardio Pulmonary Procedures without constant supervision. Must care for a patient population, which includes adolescents and geriatrics; therefore must be able to identify the special needs of each patient according to age and respond accordingly. Assumes responsibility for assigned areas and /or procedures/treatments and performs other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Successful completion of an accredited program in Respiratory Care and is a Certified or Registered Therapist.
· Must be licensed by the state of Ohio.
· Has complete understanding of all common respiratory procedures and sterile techniques.
· Should possess basic knowledge of how a respiratory department functions.
· Working knowledge of medical terminology is required.
· Must be able to prioritize and work independently.
· Must be able to function effectively and efficiently in emergencies.
· Must be able to make quick decisions when necessary.
