Position: Full Time Medical Imaging Tech Extender

Shift:  Days

‍PURPOSE

• The primary purpose of the Medical Imaging Tech Extender position is to assist the CT techs and X-ray techs by handling crucial logistical and support duties. The Medical Imaging Tech Extender supports the daily operations of the radiology department by assisting technologists and radiologists with patient care, workflow coordination, and basic technical tasks. This role enhances efficiency, improves patient experience, and ensures imaging staff can focus on performing high‑quality diagnostic exams. The Tech Extender works under the direct supervision of licensed imaging technologists.
• Under the direction of the Director of Medical Imaging, the Tech Extender is to perform such procedures delegated to him/her that are commensurate with his/her education and training.  The extent of which the Tech Extender will participate in the following activities will be dependent upon support needed by the CT or X-ray techs and the health needs of the individual patient.  He/she carries out designated tasks which are required for the operation of the service.      
• This position may also require the employee to perform other related duties and activities as assigned by the Department Head.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Knowledge of general imaging workflow preferred.
• CPR/BLS certification
• Ability to lift, move, and assist patients safely
