Position: Full Time Mammography Tech    

Department: Advanced Radiology Center – Canfield

Shift: M-F 7:30am – 4:00pm

PURPOSE

The primary purpose of your job position as a Mammography Technologist in Advanced Radiology Center  is to perform assigned duties in an effective manner, in accordance with established policies and procedures, and as directed by your supervisor to assure that a successful viable department is maintained at all times.

Working under the direction of the Director of Ancillary Services and the  Medical Imaging Supervisor, effectively directs the patient flow through the Mammography Area.   Directs mammographers,  and ancillary personnel and assigns patients to proper procedure rooms.  Must care for a patient population which includes adolescents and geriatrics; therefore, must be able to identify the special needs of each patient according to age and respond appropriately.    Performs other job related duties as assigned. 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Verification of successful graduation from an AMA accredited radiography program and certification with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
  • Verification of mammography certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
  • Verification of Ohio State Radiological License.
  • At least 2-3 years experience as a mammography technologist required.
  • General orientation and safety programs must be completed.
  • Technologist should be able to reach full productivity in 60 working days.
  • Has complete understanding of all Mammography procedures, sterile techniques and some knowledge of nursing skills.
  • Should possess full knowledge of how the Mammography Unit functions.
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology is required.
  • Has complete understanding of imaging processing and clerical procedures.
  • Has a strong motivation to work with long term and acute care patients.
  • Must be able to function effectively and efficiently in emergencies.
  • Must be able to make quick decisions when necessary.
