Position: Full Time Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant

Department: Occupational Therapy

Shift: Days, Some Weekends

PURPOSE

The primary purpose of job position as an OTA is to perform assigned duties in an efficient manner in accordance with established procedures, and directed by your supervisor to assure that a successful viable department is maintained at all times, along with delivering excellent patient care.

Under the supervision and direction of the Rehabilitation Services Director, responsible for administering various Occupational Therapy treatments; assisting the Occupational Therapist to evaluate patients and develop treatments plans; documenting patients progress; may perform other tasks and duties as assigned.

Must be familiar with different types of equipment used in therapy; be able to treat a variety of injuries and medical conditions.  Must act quickly in emergencies.  Competent in the use of Goniometers, Dynamometers, Cognitive/Perceptual Standardized Testing, Sensory Evaluations.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Graduate of an Occupational Therapy Assistant Program approved by the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA).
• Experience is preferred but new grads are acceptable.
• Current Ohio License in Occupational Therapy in compliance with the Ohio OT/PT/AT Licensing Board.  Current certification by the American Occupational Therapy Certification Board (AOTCB).
• CPR Certification.
